Garden – Monarch Butterfly

A garden is an area of land, usually adjacent to a home or in a public space, that is cultivated with plants such as flowers, vegetables, herbs, or trees for aesthetic, recreational, or practical purposes. Gardens can vary widely in size, style, and purpose, ranging from small, intimate flower gardens to expansive botanical gardens or productive vegetable gardens. They can be meticulously designed and maintained or left to grow more naturally, depending on the preferences of the gardener and the intended use of the space. Gardens often provide a peaceful retreat, opportunities for outdoor activities, and can also support biodiversity by providing habitat for various species of plants, insects, birds, and other wildlife.

I don’t really have anything specific, since I do enjoy planting flowers and vegetables and fruits and trees. However, right now, I am focusing in planting more flowers or pollinators as I recently moved in into a new home where there are no pretty birds and butterflies.

So far, I’ve seen some crows, a squirrel and a monarch butterfly. This was after I bought a milkweed plant. When I bought the milkweed plant, it had one caterpillar. After the strong rain last night, the caterpillar disappeared. I guess I need to get more from a nursery.
